Rescue Story: A woman called and notified TCWR Staff that she had taken in two young bobcats that were abandoned in a house in Lavaca, AR.
during severe flooding. Not knowing how to care for them, she asked if TCWR would be able to give the two cats a home. Staff quickly organized,
left, and drove down to pick up Tony and Prince, having to divert around flooded areas along the route. Upon arrival, Staff were informed they had
been abandoned inside the house, left in dog crates standing in chest deep still rising water. Upon return to TCWR, the two were given a vet checkup
and released into their own habitat soon after. Both were suffering from malnutrition from what evidence suggests was a wet cat food diet. They
were successfully reintroduced after being neutered. Nowadays Tony and Prince can usually be seen snuggling under the rock formation in their
habitat.
More about Tony: Tony is out in the mornings waiting for his breakfast and is extremely food motivated. In fact, he is the most difficult small cat
we have for feeding because he gets so excited that he jumps up onto the fence. Because he has his claws, our Animal Care Staff has to be extremely
careful feeding him so they use long tongs to keep out of reach.
