Collection: Thunder

Rescue Story: Turpentine Creek was contacted by a man from Oklahoma who had 9 tigers and 2 bears in need of homes. He was facing foreclosure and was ordered to be off the property by November 1st. The two bears, Bam Bam, a 2-year-old grizzly bear and Thunder, a 1-year-old black bear, were housed inside of a large barn where there were eight 10’x 20’ identical cages that were well-constructed and clean. 

More about Thunder: Even though we rescued him at a younger age and Thunder has been around our staff for the majority of his life, he is very much a wild bear. Once he reached maturity, he started displaying aggressive behaviors and territorial stomps.  On the other side, he cries like a baby when it is time for his food.
