Rescue Story: Priscilla was a pregnant female tiger who came to us as a result of the federal government’s request to assist with the seizure of 68 big cats in another state. TCWR President Tanya Smith, spent countless hours coordinating with the Department of Justice and members of the Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance, in order to facilitate the rescue. Months of silent preparation culminated in 3 days worth of boots-on-the-ground execution. During that time, a handful of TCWR team members were escorted by officers into the facility to assist with the mission. They then transported a number of the seized animals to additional accredited wildlife sanctuaries. Within days of her arrival to TCWR, Priscilla gave birth to 3 cubs; DOJ (pronounced Dodge), Jinx, & Rosie. All three cubs were born unable to walk. You can learn more about the cub’s recovery and how they are able to now run around, by viewing our Documentary “Uncharted” available for download in our online store.
More about Rosie: Rosie is a Mama’s girl, which makes sense because Priscilla had her cubs just 12 days after being rescued and raised them herself. Rosie follows mom around wherever she goes, and clings to her whenever she gets nervous.
