Rescue Story: Priscilla was a pregnant female tiger who came to us as a result of the federal government’s request to assist with the seizure of 68 big cats in another state. TCWR President Tanya Smith, spent countless hours coordinating with the Department of Justice and members of the Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance, in order to facilitate the rescue. Months of silent preparation culminated in 3 days worth of boots-on-the-ground execution. During that time, a handful of TCWR team members were escorted by officers into the facility to assist with the mission. They then transported a number of the seized animals to additional accredited wildlife sanctuaries. Within days of her arrival to TCWR, Priscilla gave birth to 3 cubs; DOJ (pronounced Dodge), Jinx, & Rosie. All three cubs were born unable to walk. More about DOJ: DOJ (pronounced “dodge”) likes to play with all of his different toys and cardboard boxes, but will get spooked initially when the boxes move towards him. He is very observant of his neighbors and keepers. While being very patient, he’s also very vocal when it comes to dinner time.
